WordPress Web Hosting FAQ

  • How do I install WordPress?

We pre-install WordPress for you so you can get started right away. Simply purchase a WordPress package, choose your settings, and you’re all set.

I have an existing WordPress website hosted with another provider. Can I transfer it to you? Yes, we have several different migration options, so you can migrate your existing WordPress website to us with minimal fuss, straight from your control panel or WordPress dashboard.

  • Can I install software that isn’t WordPress?

To keep our WordPress platform at optimal performance, we only allow WordPress to be installed. However, you're still free to write, add and modify WordPress-compatible code and files, such as themes, plugins, media uploads, etc. You'll also have full access to mailboxes and email accounts outside WordPress.

If you think you may want to create a non-WordPress website or install/upload something outside WordPress, our standard Web Hosting plans are a better choice. With our standard plans, you can run any software you like and choose from 70+ one-click installs directly from your control panel.

  • Do I still need to update WordPress?

We automatically update the WordPress core for you whenever updates are released. If you install any third-party themes or plugins, you'll need to update them yourself from your WordPress dashboard.

  • What are your data centres like, and where are they based?

Our state-of-the-art data centres offer the latest in security technologies and are manned 24/7, ensuring your data and websites are secure and monitored at all times. We have a resilient national network and an enterprise-level cloud platform, so you get the best possible hosting experience. Our data centres are based in Reading, UK and Dallas, USA.

  • Is your hosting green?

Yes, all our servers run on 100% renewable energy, and we can boast a PUE of 1.12. PUE stands for power usage efficiency, and the lower it is, the better.

  • What kind of support do you offer?

We have a range of guides and tutorials available for you via our support database. We also provide personal support just for you via your control panel. All our support is UK-based, and we never outsource it, meaning you’re always speaking to someone who understands our services and platforms inside out.
